Item Description
A fine quality and substantial French clock circa 1850 by Leroy of Paris.  The well-observed and cast figures ar of gilded brass, and there are silvered hightlights for the chapter ring and plinth surround.  The cast decoration at the centre of the dial and around the base reflect the Gothic interest at this period.  The movement is 8-day and strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell.
